JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide for the safety of Conroe ISD students while they cross streets at designated crossing zones. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Be on time for crossing guard assignment. Work in inclement weather for extended periods of time. Abide by all rules and regulations outlined in the crossing guard procedures and directives manual. Maintain confidentiality. Place roll out stop signs at designated points and remove signs at end of shift. Assist children and other community members to safely cross the street at assigned intersections during designated hours. Identify potential traffic safety hazards and respond quickly to protect children and avoid incidents. Communicate safety and traffic rules to students and parents as needed. Correct unsafe conditions when possible and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor as soon as practicable. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
At least 18 Years Old Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Basic knowledge of traffic safety regulations Ability to identify and respond quickly to traffic safety hazards Ability to communicate instructions effectively to both children and adults

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work outside under exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold). Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, turning and reaching. Frequent repetitive hand and wrist actions. Ability to carry and/or lift less than 50 pounds.
