SUMMARY:

Works under minimal supervision to assist children and others to safely cross the street at assigned intersections during designated hours. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Student Safety Assist students and parents in crossing the street safely. Report any areas of concern to the campus principal. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Utilize effective communication skills; ensure that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and respectful. Policy and Law Maintain confidentiality. Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives. Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators. Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Experience working with children (preferred)

SPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of pedestrian safety rules and vehicular laws Ability to communicate effectively Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions Ability to identify and respond quickly to traffic safety hazards
