Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE
Reports to a predetermined location to help children cross the roadway in the safest possible manner. Instructs school children on safe crossing techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must promote and follow the City's Mission Statement, values and expectations. Must learn and comply with all regulations set by the Department of Transportation in regards to school crossing zones Must be reliable, dependable and mentally alert. Must be able to use good judgement in determining when it is safe to cross the road. Must be able to interact and communicate well with the public, co-workers and particularly school children. Must be willing and able to work and move about the crossing in all types of weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years of age or older
