The Opportunity Join Smurfit Westrock as an Internal Auditor & Document Control professional, where you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality systems that support our manufacturing operations. In this position, you will help ensure processes, procedures, and documentation are accurate, effective, and compliant with customer and company requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives, conduct audits, manage document control activities, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility. A typical day may include reviewing and updating controlled documents, assisting with internal and external audits, analyzing quality-related data, supporting corrective actions, and collaborating with employees and leadership to strengthen quality processes. This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance while developing expertise in quality systems and manufacturing best practices. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Conduct audits of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and products to ensure compliance with established requirements. Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, tracking findings, and assisting with corrective action implementation. Analyze quality data and trends to help identify opportunities for process improvement and risk reduction. Create, revise, and maintain controlled documents, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, and customer specifications. Coordinate document control processes to ensure employees have access to current and accurate information. Collaborate with department leaders to provide training, guidance, and resources that support quality objectives. Assist in resolving product and process quality concerns through investigation, documentation, and follow-up activities. Support efforts to maintain third-party certifications and compliance with quality management system requirements. Respond to employee questions regarding quality procedures and documentation requirements. Deliver quality system training to employees as needed to promote consistent execution of processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Provide support to the Quality Team on special projects and other departmental initiatives. What You Need to Succeed High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read, interpret, and apply procedures, work instructions, technical documents, and safety requirements. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Willingness to work overtime as business needs require. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Experience supporting quality management systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience with document control, auditing activities, or compliance processes. Familiarity with corrective action programs and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience creating and maintaining controlled documentation such as procedures, work instructions, and forms. Knowledge of quality certifications and audit preparation processes.
