Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Document Controls Specialist to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States — the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing the construction work plans and regular reporting on compliance and environmental permitting requirements. We are working as the Delivery Partner along with team members and selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program — one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation — and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor. The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey. Oversee and maintain comprehensive project documentation in alignment with project standards and protocols. Organize, classify, and store documents using PMIS tools (SharePoint, eBuilder, PM Web, Oracle, Kahua) to ensure accessibility and accuracy. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate document reviews and approvals within a 10-day turnaround. Actively track and follow up on pending reviews to ensure timely feedback and maintain project momentum.- Implement version control practices to ensure all documents are current, accurate, and meet project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years' experience required, preferably within large infrastructure / transit projects Needs to be proficiency with PMIS tools (SharePoint, eBuilder, PM Web, Oracle, Kahua) and Windows-based software. Strong attention to detail and document organization abilities in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and follow-up skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and meet project deadlines. Need to have at least five plus years in document control within engineering/construction, preferably on large projects ($500M- 1B).
