Job Description

JOB Perform a variety of environmental tasks to ensure NSB compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and other state and federal regulations
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Shown are duties intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. Work with NSB departments to help achieve environmental compliance. Daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual inspections of NSB tanks, facilities, and other NSB activities. Assist in the implementation of the compliance measures required by EPA, DEC, and other regulatory agencies. Help investigate complaints and suspected violations regarding environmental issues, such as illegal dumping. Assist in the development and submission of annual waste manifest and inventory reports. Help with the verification of how hazardous chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with regulations. May include travel to Utqiagvik and off-slope. Other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
High school or G.E.D/or a combination of 12 years education and related work experience. Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training will be required within 3 months of hire. Additional environmental training will be provided and required within six months of hire. Valid Alaska Drivers License that meets North Slope Borough insurance criteria.
