GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
As an Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Sr Environmental Specialist with liability management and curtailing the company's risk & exposure across the Murphy USA current and divested store operations. This role will also have some level of remediation oversight at the company's terminal operations. This position will work directly with various stakeholders to resolve environmental exposure issues or concerns from stores, regulatory agencies, and field management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform invoice & expense review and align with approved budgets and liability accrual. Assist Sr. Environmental Specialist with concerns that arise from state agency inquiries and inspections, questions from consultants, and questions from internal department disciplines. Oversee the wetland and stormwater management and permitting process with our consultants, RCRA hazardous waste management and disposal, and Sara Title III filings. Continuously evaluate the waste generation of our stores and projects and determine need for obtain EPA waste generator ID's. Review due diligence report and provide environmental determination to the real estate department. Assist with the environmental emergency response program as it relates to fuel spills and releases that occur at our stores. Assist with hurricane emergency response as necessary. Assist Sr. Environmental Specialist with identifying, preventing, and resolving environmental violations across the business. Ensure appropriate record keeping for the department in Documentum, Titan, and ProjectMates. Maintain close partnership with the environmental compliance group to ensure that all testing and inspections are being met to prevent state fund eligibility denials. Ability to communicate in a concise and professional manner w/ internal and external disciplines. Participate in consultant quality review meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Four year college degree preferred with knowledge of business management, accounting processes, and computer proficiency. Five years of related industry experience is a plus. ​​​​​​​ Auto req
