Make a difference with us at WestLand! WestLand is adding a full-time Environmental Compliance Inspector to our Tucson team! The Environmental Inspector monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permit requirements, and project-specific environmental plans. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, construction monitoring, documenting compliance status, providing guidance to construction crews, and reporting findings to project management. The position requires knowledge of environmental regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in field conditions for extended periods. This position may include conducting biological field surveys as needed. What will I be doing? Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions. Monitor implementation of erosion and sediment control measures, spill prevention protocols, and other environmental protection practices. Document inspection findings, including photographs and written reports, and communicate results to project management. Advise construction crews on corrective actions to address environmental compliance issues. Coordinate with project management, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding compliance matters. Maintain accurate inspection logs, reports, and related documentation. Report any environmental incidents or non-compliance to the Project Manager immediately. Support environmental training for construction crews as needed. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials on site. Assist in preparing final environmental compliance reports for project closeout. Participate in or complete biological field surveys as needed. What qualifications are required for this role? Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Experience in environmental inspection, compliance monitoring, or related field. Strong observational and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with construction personnel, project managers, and regulators. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for preparing reports and documentation. Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field. Strong organizational and time management skills. High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience required. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental inspection or related work preferred. The wage range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hour. What does WestLand offer you?
