Environmental Specialist - Air Quality (Midstream Operations)Location:
Carlsbad, NM Schedule:
Monday- Friday Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with a strong air quality background to support midstream operations, specifically compressor station environments. This role will serve as a technical advisor to operations teams, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guiding air permitting and emissions management efforts. Key Responsibilities Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in air quality and environmental compliance for midstream assets, including compressor stations Provide technical advisory support to operations teams on federal, state, and local air regulations (e.g., EPA, TCEQ) Interpret permitting requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with air permits and applicable regulations Assist with air permit applications, amendments, renewals, and reporting obligations Evaluate emissions from compressor stations and related midstream facilities Support implementation of air compliance programs, monitoring plans, and recordkeeping systems Conduct regulatory analysis and gap assessments to ensure alignment with evolving environmental rules Partner with operations to develop practical, compliant solutions for environmental challenges Support internal audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, with a strong focus on air quality Direct experience in midstream oil & gas operations, particularly compressor stations, required Strong knowledge of air permitting processes and regulatory frameworks (e.g., TitleV, NSPS, NESHAP
