Location United States of America Florida Orlando Company Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, LLC Organization Wind Power Business Unit Onshore Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Professional / Experienced A Snapshot of Your Day SGRE is looking for a self-driven and proactive Grid Compliance Technical Lead who will be responsible for grid code reviews, compliance assessments, gap analyses, and technical leadership supporting the integration of wind power plants. The scope of responsibility will be for Onshore Americas region. How You'll Make an Impact Lead grid code reviews, compliance evaluations, and gap analyses to identify risks and required product enhancements. Mentor and provide technical leadership on grid compliance requirements, interconnection standards, and renewable integration challenges for onshore Americas market. Support certification activities and engagement with utilities, transmission operators, consultants, and regulatory authorities. Lead analysis of power system studies to assess compliance with requirements related to voltage control, frequency response, fault ride-through, reactive power capability, harmonics, power quality, and short-circuit performance. Interpret simulation and field test results and identify necessary performance improvements. Review RMS (PSS®E) and EMT (PSCAD) models and simulation methodologies used for compliance and interconnection studies. Review and oversee benchmarking and validation of wind turbine and plant controller models against field measurements and reference data. Write technical reports w requirements, assumptions, results, and conclusions are clearly described. Support customer communication and technical meetings as the grid compliance subject matter expert. What You Bring Master's degree in Electrical Power Engineering combined with 8-10 years of experience in grid compliance, renewable integration, and power system studies. Knowledge of current grid compliance regulations and experience working with grid authorities such as ERCOT, NERC, FERC, utilities, ISOs, and RTOs. Experience performing grid code reviews, compliance assessments, gap analyses, and technical risk evaluations. Experience performing electrical studies including Harmonic Studies, Load Flow Analysis, Dynamic Stability, Frequency Response, Transient Studies, Fault Ride-Through, and Short Circuit Analysis. Strong understanding of inverter-based resources and grid integration requirements. Working knowledge of power system simulation tools including PSS®E, PSCAD and others. Experience with wind turbines (DFIG and/or Full converter technologies) or other converter-based units (e.g., PV, HVDC, STATCOM, Energy Storage). Desirable experience supporting utility interconnection processes and industry standards development. Who is Siemens Gamesa?
