Review Right-of-Way (ROW) Use permit applications to ensure compliance with the Unified Development Code and applicable regulations. Conduct field inspections on private, public, and County-owned properties to verify compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Assist with the review of subdivision, site, and development plans as part of the permitting process. Help support safe, efficient, and compliant land development projects throughout the community. Collaborate with planners, inspectors, engineers, and other County staff to move projects forward. Provide backup support for Land Development Inspectors by assisting with field inspections and related activities. Schedule Work Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Typical Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ( no weekends! ) As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency. About You To be considered for this role, you must have the following: High School Diploma or its equivalent and 4+ years of total experience in inspecting.

OR:

College or university-level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire. The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities: Please note that these are not requirements but bonuses for your consideration. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university preferred. Passed the Florida Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or able to obtain it within six months of hire. Knowledge of drainage structure construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret subdivision, drainage, and construction plans with accuracy. Experience conducting field inspections and evaluating construction projects for compliance. Familiarity with stormwater hydrology, hydraulics, surveying, construction practices, scheduling, and pavement design. Strong communication, interpersonal, Microsoft Office, and computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn County software and systems. Subject to

Passing Substance Screening:

This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of 5 years.

Physical Demands:

Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

About Everything Else Starting Pay Range:

$24.74/hr (minimum) up to $31.54 (midpoint), based on experience.
