Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Permit Specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring construction projects adhere to all regulatory standards and local ordinances. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with construction teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth permit processes. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with environmental laws, building codes, zoning regulations, and public health standards, contributing to safe and sustainable development initiatives. Duties Manage the entire permit application process, including preparing, submitting, and tracking permits related to construction, environmental compliance, and public health regulations. Interpret technical drawings, building plans, and zoning maps to ensure project compliance with local building codes and construction regulations. Collaborate with government agencies and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and ensure adherence to environmental laws and ordinances. Review construction plans for compliance with OSHA safety standards, environmental law requirements, and building code analysis. Prepare detailed reports on permit status, regulatory reporting, and compliance documentation for internal teams and external agencies. Provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through permit procedures, answering inquiries, and resolving issues efficiently. Maintain accurate records of all permit applications, approvals, amendments, and correspondence using Microsoft Office tools and specialized compliance management software. Requirements Proven experience in construction or environmental law with a strong understanding of local building codes, zoning regulations, and construction regulations. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction regulatory compliance practices. Familiarity with FDA regulations related to public health or environmental compliance is a plus. Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and analyze building plans for code compliance. Excellent report writing skills with experience in preparing detailed permit documentation and regulatory reports. Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptional customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate complex regulatory information clearly.
