A facilities services company is pursuing a federal project supporting a comprehensive confined space assessment and compliance evaluation across a large government research campus. The selected professional will serve as the lead field resource responsible for conducting facility inspections, assessing confined spaces, evaluating compliance programs, reviewing personnel qualifications, and producing detailed technical reports. This individual will report to the Project Manager and play a critical role in executing field assessments, documenting findings, and developing corrective action recommendations. If not local, this individual may be able to travel in on a rotational basis, spending a week onsite followed by reporting and documentation work completed remotely.
Responsibilities:
Conduct facility-wide confined space assessments across approximately 300 buildings and worksites. Verify, identify, and classify existing and previously undiscovered confined spaces. Perform field inspections and hazard assessments of permit-required and non-permit confined spaces. Review confined space entry procedures and compliance documentation.
Inspect confined space equipment including:
atmospheric monitors, retrieval systems, ventilation equipment, rescue equipment, PPE and communication devices Evaluate equipment condition, functionality, calibration status, and replacement needs. Review employee training records, certifications, and qualifications for entrants, attendants, supervisors, and rescue personnel. Assess compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and client-specific safety requirements. Identify training gaps, expired certifications, and program deficiencies. Assist in developing corrective action recommendations and compliance improvement plans. Prepare technical reports, findings, and final assessment documentation. Coordinate with facility personnel, escorts, and security teams throughout onsite work.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
