Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Permit Specialist to join our team and ensure seamless compliance with all construction, environmental, and public health regulations. In this role, you will manage the permit application process, interpret complex building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations, and coordinate with government agencies to secure necessary permits. Your expertise will help facilitate efficient project approvals while maintaining strict adherence to local ordinances and safety standards. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit permit applications for construction projects in accordance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental laws. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with government agencies, inspectors, and stakeholders to facilitate permit approval processes and resolve any compliance issues. Monitor project progress to ensure ongoing adherence to permits, environmental standards, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, and other relevant laws. Maintain detailed records of permit applications, approvals, inspections, and compliance documentation for audit purposes. Assist in report preparation related to environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, and project status updates. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries from contractors, developers, and internal teams regarding permit procedures and requirements. Skills Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations. Construction experience with a solid understanding of building code analysis and construction regulations. Familiarity with FDA regulations (if applicable) related to public health or environmental standards. Expertise in environmental law, local building codes, zoning regulations, and local ordinances. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, data management, and communication. Experience managing construction regulatory compliance and interpreting technical drawings. Excellent report preparation skills along with the ability to write clear and detailed reports. Ability to interpret technical documents such as blueprints and construction plans accurately. Strong organizational skills with administrative experience in permit processing or regulatory management. Experience working with government agencies or public permitting processes is highly desirable. Exceptional customer service skills to effectively communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
