Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Certification Engineer (Compliance) to join a leading organization in the networking and cybersecurity industry. The Technical Certification Engineer (Compliance) will be responsible for driving product certification and regulatory compliance initiatives, ensuring networking and technology products meet global regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities of the Technical Certification Engineer (Compliance):
  • Lead product certification efforts and regulatory compliance projects for networking hardware and software solutions.
  • Coordinate with external testing laboratories, certification bodies, and internal engineering teams to achieve regulatory approvals.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory standards, directives, and certification requirements to product architectures and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and program stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated throughout product development.
  • Develop and maintain technical compliance documentation, certification reports, and supporting regulatory materials.
  • Track evolving regulatory requirements and provide guidance on product impact and compliance strategies.
  • Manage multiple certification programs simultaneously while ensuring project timelines and deliverables are achieved.
  • Support audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews as required. Qualifications of the Technical Certification Engineer (Compliance):
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or related discipline).
  • Deep expertise in regulatory compliance, including CE Marking and EU Directives such as EMC, LVD, RED, and RoHS.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product certification projects in partnership with external testing laboratories.
  • Strong technical background in networking hardware and software technologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them to technical products and architectures.
  • Proven ability to communicate compliance requirements effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including developers and product managers.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience creating compliance documentation and engineering reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple certification initiatives concurrently within a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience with Common Criteria or other security-focused certification frameworks.
    Preferred:
    Working knowledge of Cisco technologies; CCNA, CCNP, or similar certifications are highly desirable. Compensation for the Technical Certification Engineer (Compliance) includes:
    • Salary range: $115,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
