Description Specific Tasks:
- Author and revise SDS documents for global distribution
- Classify chemical hazards and ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain SDS systems and documentation
- Communicate delays with Project Manager and track progress
- Demonstrate and train internal personnel on proper SDS maintenance Required Capabilities (How will we measure fit?):
- Must have experience authoring and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Knowledge of OSHA HazCom, GHS, and global regulatory frameworks (e.
g., EU
CLP, WHMIS
).
- Ability to classify chemical mixtures for health, physical, and environmental hazards.
- Must have proven experience using SDS authoring systems (e.g., SAP EHS, Chemwatch, Lisam, or similar)
- Must have strong technical writing skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Animal Science, or related field
- 2+ years of SDS authoring experience in chemical, pharma, or C&IP industries
- Strong knowledge of: o OSHA HazCom o GHS classification and labeling
- Experience with SDS authoring software Culture Fit (Soft Skills)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
