DQ0001 -- ENGINEER OPS SPECIALIST
(NUC) - LEVEL D#26-22720 Chattanooga, TN Onsite Job Description 1. In a technical supervisory capacity, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs projects with complex features. 2. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of Nuclear Operations principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. 3. Makes decisions independently on operations problems and methods. 4. Technically supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of others, estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion date. 5. The incumbent will not be responsible for the supervisory administrative duties of performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, selections, leave approval, promotions and pay changes. 6. Demonstrates working knowledge in technical areas achieved and as described on performance appraisal. 7.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills:
give clear direction, negotiation skills, ability to confront difficult and adverse situations. 8. Demonstrates ability to communicate and interface with higher levels of management. 9.
Demonstrated supervisory skills:
planning, scheduling, budget development and maintenance. Minimum Qualifications Two year engineering technical degree or bachelor's degree is desirable. Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access and S-3 and S-4 medical qualifications when applicable. Must be able and willing to assume "on-call" rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability. Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by TVAN procedures during peak periods. Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required when performing assigned tasks and, as necessary, to be temporarily assigned to a field location.
