JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to Supervising Environmental Engineer, responsible for performing environmental inspections to ensure compliance of on-site sewage facilities (OSSF) with State and County requirements. Level I of III in Sanitarian.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Reviews and generates comments of on-site sewage facility permits applications for compliance- Conducts and documents pre-installation, installation, and post-installation OSSF inspections
- Conducts and documents subdivision and Water Pollution Abatement Plan (WPAP) inspections
- Performs and documents public health nuisance investigations
- Meets with landowners, designers, and contractors to respond to questions and issues
- Assists with public information requests and document management
- Assists in the management of the maintenance records tracking system
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with at least 30 semester hours or its equivalent in a basic or applied science (refer to 16 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 119.23 for a listing of approved science courses) OR graduation within six (6) months of employment- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Suite
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment Valid driver's license Required within six (6) months of employment Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) OSSF Designated Representative license Required within twelve (12) months of employmentTCEQ OSSF
Site Evaluator licensePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree (refer to 16 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 119.23 for a listing of approved science courses)
- Two (2) years of experience in consumer health, environmental health, environmental laboratory sciences, wastewater treatment, engineering, or sanitation
- TCEQ Site Evaluator License
- TCEQ Designated Representative License
- Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans Certification
- ARC-GIS software knowledge including the ability to perform advanced special analysis and data editing
- Bilingual in Spanish
