Job Description
South Plains Association of Governments Regional Services Specialist Employment Opportunity Come join us in supporting and improving cities and counties across the South Plains! The South Plains Association of Governments is seeking an out-of-the-box thinker to be a part of our innovative Regional Services team. This department provides a variety of regional programs including but not limited to environmental quality, water resources, public safety, economic development, public infrastructure, and transportation. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree and/or at least two years of professional office experience. This position provides on-the-job learning opportunities in the specific operations and tasks needed to be successful. The ideal candidate should be intrinsically motivated, receptive to professional skills development and have a desire to utilize creative problem-solving skills. This position offers a rewarding public service experience and the opportunity to serve the public across the South Plains region. Note about future growth/opportunities Specific tasks will include:
- Create and maintain relationships with local and state officials,
- Coordination of state and federal grants that improve the quality of life for residents in the South Plains,
- Ensure project and construction compliance, and
- Administration of regional planning programs that encourage natural and economic diversity The starting hourly range for this position is between $22.
