Full Job Description Overview:
Quiddity is seeking an experienced Water / Wastewater Technical Director to support and grow our municipal water and wastewater services across Texas. This role will focus on the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater facility infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities, and regulatory-driven improvements for municipal and regional utility clients. This is a key leadership position within a management-owned firm, offering the opportunity to significantly influence the growth and direction of Quiddity's water and wastewater practice while delivering critical public infrastructure throughout the state. For significant contributors, Quiddity offers the opportunity for ownership participation.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership for Quiddity's Texas Water / Wastewater practice, supporting municipal and regional utility clients. Participate in business development and client relationship efforts with Texas cities, utility districts, river authorities, and regional agencies. Help develop and execute a Texas-wide growth strategy, including target markets and priority clients. Position Quiddity to win and deliver water and wastewater projects including treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities and capital improvement programs. This will include pre-positioning, teaming arrangements, SOQ preparation and help prepare technical approaches. Understanding of and experience with alternative delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, etc.) is preferred by not required. Oversee planning, design, and construction-phase services in a technical advisor, design manager and/or quality control role, ensuring projects meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules. Lead design and/or quality management of multidisciplinary teams (process mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, electrical, I&C, environmental, etc.) to deliver integrated water and wastewater solutions. Enforce technical standards and best practices for water/wastewater design across the firm. Mentor and develop design managers and technical staff to support long-term practice growth and succession planning. Support compliance with TCEQ, EPA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Contribute to firm leadership initiatives including staffing strategies, quality standards, and operational planning.
Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe). Minimum 20+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a strong background in municipal infrastructure. Demonstrated leadership experience in client management, business development, and public-sector project delivery. Broad understanding of water and wastewater systems, including treatment, conveyance, and utility operations. Strong reputation and established relationships within the Texas municipal water market. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects. Proven ability to mentor staff and build collaborative, high-performing teams. Strong communication skills and a reputation for technical credibility and teamwork.
