Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary The EMS District Chief of Clinical Education is an essential leadership position accountable for the directing, managing and coordinating all department resources and 150 personnel including and all actively engaged York County based public safety organizations (18 Fire Departments, 7 Police Departments, 911 and EMA) as it relates to Training and Quality Assurance, to assure high performance provision of emergency medical, specialty care programs and or transport services. It is the expectation that the EMS District Chief will exemplify the highest professional standards and continuously fosters an enriching, supportive and dynamic team environment. The EMS District Chief directs field operations and coordinates emergency medical personnel and resources to assure provision of high-performance emergency medical and or specialty care or transport services throughout York County. The EMS District Chief administers basic and advanced life support procedures to patients at the accident or illness scene, and if needed, may become active in transporting to medical facilities. The EMS District Chief manages and coordinates interagency control at the scene of a major disaster and coordinates actions of all EMS staff and first responders as needed. Additionally, the EMS District Chief maintains daily time keeping (kronos) of direct reports, performs performance evaluations, employee recognition and accountability, internal /external conflict resolution, and administrative, technical and supervisory duties.Responsibilities Operational Goal:
To improve the quality, efficiency, reliability, customer satisfaction and ultimately the patient experience through training and quality assurance by the following methods: Develop, implement and monitor EMS clinical treatment protocols in conjunction with the EMS Medical Director and DHEC to ensure high performance evidenced based best practices. Provision of a robust training and quality assurance program that meets or exceeds that standards specific to Tenet Healthcare, Piedmont Medical Center, SC-DHEC regulations, York county contract standards and customer satisfaction. Develop, implement and maintain a fully integrated Field Training Officer (FTO) program and a comprehensive internal and external team of diverse, qualified and competent instructors to effectively manage the training and quality assurance program. Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive resources to encourage and facilitate the on-going professional development of all EMS team members.Financial Goal:
To maintain, maximize and or reduce the overall training and quality assurance operating costs by the following methods: Reduction of clinical, administrative or operations errors and associated costs through high quality training and quality assurance. Maximizing patient experience and ultimately outcomes through implementation of evidenced based clinical care and associated training with on-going quality assurance. Effectively utilizing budgeted education hours to achieve training goalsQualifications Required:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) or equivalent from a 4-year college, technical school, university (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)Experience:
At least Five years full time experience as a paramedic and progressive leadership experience in 911 EMS system of similar size and type as Piedmont Medical Center EMS Certification as a Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C), Flight Paramedic (FP-C) or equivalent or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.Licensure/Certification:
South Carolina Paramedic certification Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification within one year of employment Critical Care Paramedic Certification (CCP-C) or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. BLS (within 7 days of hire- with the ability to obtain instructor status ACLS

- with the ability to obtain instructor status AMLS, PHTLS and EPC or PEPP preferred
- with the ability to obtain instructor status Training in Hazardous Materials and Radiological monitoring preferred NIMS compliant with Incident Command/Incident Management in the following 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 Successful completion of the
