What they do

A Fire Inspector or Investigator visits buildings and inspects for fire hazards. Checks buildings for compliance with government fire codes. Inspects equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems. May inspect larger building structures such as malls or stadiums. Visits fire scenes, collects evidence and analyzes findings to determine the cause of fires; may provide official findings or testimony in cases where arson is the cause of a fire.

Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to join our Jacksonville, FL team. This role is open to both experienced fire protection professionals and motivated trade workers looking to enter the fire suppression industry. New (non-certified/licensed) technicians will complete a 3-month ride-along/training period before attending formal schooling.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, and maintain: Fire extinguishers Fire suppression systems Perform repairs on suppression systems, whether discharged or not Complete service documentation and inspection reports Follow NFPA standards and Florida fire code requirements Work efficiently onsite while maintaining strong safety practices We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.   • Background in low-voltage industry and mechanically inclined.
  • 1-2 years of experience in fire suppression or fire protection
  • Active Florida fire suppression permit (preferred but open to candidates willing and able to obtain certification) Experience with chemical suppression systems, including: Wet chemical systems Dry chemical systems CO₂ systems Smoke dampers
