Job Description
Southern Hens, Inc. located in Moselle, MS is seeking Safety Techs for day shift positions. People with EMT, Mechanical or safety backgrounds are encouraged to apply. All plants, Day Shift position - we are seeking a candidate with a strong background in occupational health and safety, as well as experience in refrigeration systems and preventative maintenance processes. Duties Include- Daily/As Needed 1. Ensure Hazmat Team List stays compliant, update and revise list as needed. 2. Fire Extinguisher Bottles refilled when warranted 3. Electronically file Safety Checklist, Trailer Log, Fork Lift certifications, New ire TrainingHire Training, LOTO Training, and all other Training. 4. Ordering of all Safety Supplies, first aid supplies, LOTO Locks & Inventory. 5. Maintain and update on Plant Emergency Evacuation Diagrams and posting. 6. Making all Chemical Labels and maintaining Printer. 7. New Hire Orientation for select personnel 8. Ensure SDS for each plant is current 9. Pre-shift inspection viewing for safety related deficiencies 10. Complete Accident/Incident Investigations and send out to management. Leadership Team For each plant Weekly 1. Collect LOTO observation forms 2. Ensure pre-shift inspection safety issues are addressed Monthly 1. Complete sign audit/ replace signs (Steam Plant & Outside Areas Everywhere) 2. Hazmat Trailer Inspection 3. Respirator Inspection 4. SCBA Inspection 5. Confined Space Inspection 6. Send out updated PIT list to HR 7. Refrigeration Safety Inspection 8. Hoist Inspection 9. Multi-Gas Monitoring/Meter Calibration 10. PAA Monitoring 11. Fall Protection Inspection Annually 12. X-ray machine Radiation Dosimeter Quarterly Exchange Yearly Contact. 13. ChemDaq yearly contract for Quarterly Sensor Exchange. 14. Conduct Safety Training for Authorized Personnel 15. 8hr. TWA for PAA Areas 16. Fire Extinguisher Inspection by 3rd Party Vendor 17. Ensure Annual Authorized Trainings are current for select personnel (BBP, LOTO, Etc.)
