In this role, you'll inspect, maintain, test, and recharge fire extinguishers and suppression system equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with fire extinguisher experience who takes pride in quality work, safety, and keeping equipment ready when it matters most.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect, maintain, test, and tag portable fire extinguishers. Inspect, maintain, test, and recharge suppression system tanks. Inspect, maintain, test, and recharge wheeled unit extinguishers. Maintain a productive workflow, averaging 6-8 units per hour. Ensure work complies with applicable state and federal regulations, codes, and standards. Accurately complete paperwork related to shop orders and projects. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

1+ year of experience as a Fire Extinguisher Technician. Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. City of Portland Certificate of Fitness is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move tools and equipment weighing approximately 50-75 lbs. Manual dexterity to work with small tools, perform maintenance tasks, and manipulate parts. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in various positions throughout the day. Ability to read labels, identify pressure gauges, and visually inspect fire extinguishers and related equipment.
