What they do

A Fire Inspector or Investigator visits buildings and inspects for fire hazards. Checks buildings for compliance with government fire codes. Inspects equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems. May inspect larger building structures such as malls or stadiums. Visits fire scenes, collects evidence and analyzes findings to determine the cause of fires; may provide official findings or testimony in cases where arson is the cause of a fire.

Job Description

Midwest Fire and Safety is a division of Tessiers Mechanical Contractors and is an industry leader in the installation and maintenance of fire, safety, and suppression equipment. Our company is growing and looking to add to our team. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Fire Safety Technician in the Mitchell, SD area. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys being on the go and meeting new people all while maintaining a flexible schedule. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors Schedule and complete fire extinguisher, kitchen hood suppression, and industrial suppression inspections Lead the sale and installation of listed products including safety kits
Work Experience:
One to three years of fire and safety sales experience (or general sales experience) is preferred but not required History of basic mechanical skills/aptitude
Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
Highly organized self-starter People person with good verbal and written communication skills Critical thinking skills Computer proficiencies in the Microsoft suite of products Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50 lbs or more We have a comprehensive benefit package which includes eight paid holidays, PTO upon hire, matching 401(k) plan, health, dental and vision insurance, profit sharing, long-term disability, basic life/AD&D, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
