A Fire Inspector or Investigator visits buildings and inspects for fire hazards. Checks buildings for compliance with government fire codes. Inspects equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems. May inspect larger building structures such as malls or stadiums. Visits fire scenes, collects evidence and analyzes findings to determine the cause of fires; may provide official findings or testimony in cases where arson is the cause of a fire.

PTAN Fire Inspector
Conduct inspections for fire protection systems, fuel systems, and other general fire code related facility inspections. This position will be part-time, as needed, and will involve driving to different job sites within a 100 mile radius. A Basic Fire Inspector Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection is required. A Texas Driver's License Class C is required.
