Responsibilities Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies to protect life and property. Operate fire apparatus and emergency vehicles safely and efficiently during response efforts. Conduct fire prevention inspections, including building code analysis and compliance checks with the International Fire Code (IFC) and NFPA standards. Perform construction inspections focusing on fire safety measures such as sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and fire sprinkler fitting. Educate the public on fire safety practices through community outreach programs and safety demonstrations. Assist in the maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection gear to ensure readiness for all emergency scenarios. Collaborate with team members to supervise training exercises, review system design plans, and ensure adherence to all safety protocols. Experience Proven experience in firefighting operations or emergency response roles with a strong understanding of fire codes, regulations, and NFPA standards. Demonstrated knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, Hazmat procedures, and system design principles. Construction inspection experience related to building code compliance and life safety building codes. Supervising experience in training or leading teams during emergency responses or safety inspections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for report writing, documentation, and communication purposes. Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with the public during safety education initiatives. Prior experience with construction projects or construction inspection related to fire prevention measures is highly desirable.
