P Status of Position Adjunct Faculty Union:

Adjunct Position Summary Prairie State College is seeking experienced part-time Adjuncts to teach Firefighter, Fire Officer, and Emergency Medical Courses. Successful candidates will have a desire to engage a diverse student population in various levels of Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service education. The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule for teaching assignments. Fire courses seeking Adjunct Instructors include Basic Operations Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operation, Advanced Technician Firefighter, Vehicle Machinery Operations, Vehicle Machinery Technician, Fire Apparatus Engineer, Instructor I, Instructor II, Company Fire Officer, and Incident Safety Officer. Emergency Medical courses seeking Adjunct Instructors include First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician•Basic and Paramedic. Minimum Qualifications Required Certifications for teaching

Firefighter Courses:

Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter certification and certification in the course being taught. Required Certifications for teaching First Responder and Emergency Medical Technician•

Basic Courses:

Emergency Medical Technician•Basic certification. Required Certifications for teaching

Paramedic Courses:

Emergency Medical Technician•Paramedic certification.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred certification:

Fire Service Instructor I, II or III certification or EMS Lead Instructor Certification and Emergency Medical Technician•Paramedic certification. Must be committed to student engagement and learning outcomes of the class being taught.
