Job Description

The Town of Cumberland Fire Department is accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/EMS Provider We are looking for a positive and motivated individual to join our team. The desired candidate should be a Maine licensed EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced or EMT-Paramedic and be Firefighter I & II Certified. This position is responsible for the efficient performance of required duties in conformance with the rules, regulations and policies established by the State, Town and the Fire Department. Duties shall consist of fire and EMS responsibilities necessary to ensure the stability and safety of the Town of Cumberland and our neighboring communities. This full-time opportunity offers a generous benefits package that includes MainePERS retirement 3C plan, health and dental insurance, paid vacation, personal, sick and holiday time. Starting base salary for non-lateral candidates: EMT-B $25.07 / EMT-A $27.86 / EMT-P $30.58 Lateral payroll is based on time in service in a municipal Fire/EMS department in a position that is comparable to this advertised position. Salaries are shown in the Teamsters, Local 340 contract.
Requirements:
High School Diploma (or equivalent); Associate degree preferred Must be 20 years of age Must hold and maintain at least a valid Maine EMT-Basic License (and will be required to obtain and maintain an EMTAdvanced license within 18 months) NFPA Firefighter I & II Certification Must hold and maintain a valid State of Maine Class C Driver's License Must be able to work rotating 24 hour shifts
FEMA ICS 100, ICS 200, IS 700, IS
