Summary Firefighter/EMT - Stennis Space Center Chenega is seeking Firefighter/EMTs to join our emergency response team at Stennis Space Center, MS. In this hands-on role, you'll help protect lives, property, and mission-critical operations through fire suppression, rescue services, and emergency medical response. Responsibilities Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents, providing life-saving services and effective emergency response. Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment while supporting fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and Basic Life Support (BLS) transport operations. Maintain operational readiness through equipment inspections, apparatus maintenance, training, drills, and compliance with department procedures and safety standards. Support fire prevention, public safety, and documentation activities, including inspections, incident reporting, and continuous professional development. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age. Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain Mississippi licensure). Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi State Minimum Standards, or equivalent) and EVOC certification. HazMat Operations, Technical Rescue Awareness, and
NIMS ICS
100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications; ability to pass required background and drug screenings. Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
Fire Inspector I certification (or ability to obtain after hire). Ability to obtain Technical Rescue Technician and/or HazMat Technician certifications.
