Now you may be ready for what comes next. Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) is recruiting experienced Firefighter/Paramedics for lateral entry. Join an all-risk fire district serving Northern Nevada and bring the experience you already have to an organization where you can continue developing your fire service career. TMFPD Firefighter/Paramedics respond across suburban, rural, and wildland-urban interface environments, providing structural and wildland firefighting, advanced life support emergency medical care, rescue, hazardous materials response, and other emergency and public-assistance services. At TMFPD, Firefighter/Paramedics have access to specialized response and career-development opportunities, including the Regional HazMat Team, Water Entry Team (WET), ALS EMS and Ambulance operations, and Wildland Overhead assignments. Qualified personnel may have opportunities to participate in IMTs, REMS, dozer operations, overhead assignments, and other off-District deployments. This recruitment is for experienced Firefighter/Paramedics, not entry-level candidates. To qualify, applicants must have: A high school diploma or equivalent. Completed their current department's Firefighter probationary period. At least one year of current, full-time, continuous employment as a Firefighter/Paramedic. The one year may include probationary time. Experience with a public fire district, agency, authority, or department providing all-risk Fire/EMS services. Required at Time of Application Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and current: Firefighter I certification meeting applicable NFPA, IFSAC, ProBoard, or equivalent standards Nevada or National Registry Paramedic certification CPR certification with hands-on skills assessment ACLS ITLS or
PHTLS PALS
Additional licenses and certifications may be required following appointment. What Happens Next? Qualified candidates will move through a selection process that may include application review, skills assessments, oral board interviews, background investigation, medical evaluation, and final selection.
