A Firefighter responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls. Puts out fires and rescues people from buildings. Responds to medical emergencies and assists with search and rescue efforts and industrial or hazardous waste accidents. Provides fire prevention programs or inspections in the community. May be specially trained to fight forest fires.

Job Description
Eligibility Basic Structural Firefighter certification through Texas Commission of Fire Protection (TCFP) or equivalent issued through another entity which qualifies for TCFP reciprocity. OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), or Paramedic certification issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or National Registry. B.Two (2) years of experience as either a certified/licensed Firefighter, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic. C.Applicant must be 21 years of age or older. D.Valid driver's license.
