Job Description:
As a Ancillary Inspector at Heartland Inspections, you will be responsible for conducting specialized inspections of the home. The types of inspections that you would be conducting are sewer line inspections, chimney inspections and mold testing. Your detailed reports will give clients valuable insights about the property's condition, helping them make informed buying or selling decisions.
Location:
We are currently seeking a candidate located in the Twin Cities Metro area and the Southeast Corridor of Minnesota. The work radius includes the Twin Cities Metro to Suburbs and the Route 52 Corridor to Rochester, MN.
Key Responsibilities:
Here's a key responsibilities list for the Ancillary Inspector role: Key Responsibilities Schedule and manage own daily/weekly inspection routes based on client availability, geographic efficiency, and appointment priority Perform sewer line inspections using camera equipment, identifying blockages, root intrusion, pipe damage, and structural issues Conduct chimney inspections, evaluating flue condition, creosote buildup, structural integrity, and code compliance Perform mold testing and sampling, including air quality and surface sample collection, following proper protocols Accurately document findings with photos, videos, and detailed written reports for each inspection type Communicate inspection results clearly to clients and real estate agents, both verbally and in writing Respond promptly to client and agent follow-up questions regarding findings, recommendations, and next steps Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accurate results Adhere to industry standards, safety protocols, and applicable local/state regulations for each inspection type Manage time effectively to complete inspections thoroughly while meeting daily schedule commitments Communicate proactively with office staff/dispatch regarding schedule changes, delays, or access issues .
Requirements:
Certified Home Inspector (or willingness to obtain certification). Prior experience in sewer line inspections preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency with inspection software and technology. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical ability to navigate tight spaces, and other challenging environments.
