Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a detailed oriented zoning code enforcement officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the compliance and administer the Sylvania Township Property Maintenance Codes, by patrolling, performing field investigations, inspections, maintaining files, documentation, and able to communicate effectively to resolve issues.
Duties :
Ensures compliance with the Township's Zoning Resolution and other policies and procedures Patrol and ensure compliance with and administer the Sylvania Township Property Maintenance Code Receives and processes complaints of zoning and nuisance violations Perform field investigations and inspections Identify violations and properties not in compliance with applicable standards, follow-up and document Maintain all records and a comprehensive database Remove signs or portable structures within the public right of way Review properties for compliance with approved site plans Prepare a variety of department records, correspondence and reports Serve as a back up to the zoning clerk and assist other zoning department personnel Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, residents, contractors and vendors. Assists with Department and Township compliance Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience :
MINIMUM:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in public enforcement, inspection, investigation or customer service Valid Driver's License Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel) DESIRED 3+ years' experience in public enforcement, inspection, investigation or customer service Knowledge of public sector/government regulations and/or planning and zoning :: Interested candidates can view the full job description and obtain the application on our site: www.sylvaniatownship.com Sylvania township is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and a drug-free, tobacco-free workplace.
