Updated 08/18/2026 Job Description Job Summary The Chief Inspector oversees all Inspection, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control functions for the Part 145 Repair Station and Part 135 operations. This role serves as the primary FAA liaison and holds final authority for return-to-service approvals. The position ensures all maintenance and avionics work complies with 14 CFR regulations, manufacturer data, and company procedures, while directing inspection standards, methods, and documentation across the repair station. Key Responsibilities Ensure all required inspections are properly performed, documented, and completed before return to service. Maintain current regulatory and technical data, including 14 CFR references, ADs, service bulletins, manuals, and approved data. Supervise and guide technicians designated as floor inspectors; provide technical direction as needed. Oversee control, calibration, and documentation of special tools and test equipment. Coordinate directly with the FAA CHDO and other FAA offices on Quality Assurance matters. Prevent installation of unairworthy, defective, or unserviceable parts; ensure proper tagging and identification of all components. Submit required reports of failures, malfunctions, or defects per 14 CFR 145.221. Ensure proper execution of FAA Form 337 and maintenance releases when applicable. Maintain and revise the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Capabilities List, and Personnel Roster. Oversee acceptance of incoming parts, materials, and outsourced work to ensure airworthiness. Ensure preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections are completed and recorded per the RSM/QCM. Maintain organized files of work orders, inspection forms, and technical publications. Conduct internal audits and support continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and documentation. Approve and coordinate physical changes to aircraft, engines, and components. Promote a positive, safety-focused work environment and ensure proper use of safety equipment. Support production schedules using technical expertise while upholding quality standards. Requirements Requirements Education & Certifications High School Diploma or GED Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Inspection Authorization (IA) Five or more years of related maintenance/inspection experience Experience Strong knowledge of Part 145 repair station operations and regulations Demonstrated experience managing inspections, repairs, QA/QC, and compliance Skills & Competencies Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Clear written and verbal communication Proven leadership with the ability to motivate, influence, and maintain confidentiality Customer-service mindset with the ability to manage difficult situations professionally Proficiency with MS Office and maintenance tracking systems (Corridor, CMP, Cesscom, CAMP, etc.) Broad aircraft knowledge relevant to the station's operations Job and company information not to be copied, shared, scraped, or otherwise disseminated without explicit consent of JSfirm, LLC.
