As a Bail Bondsman, you will play an important role in helping clients navigate the bail process while maintaining compliance with Arkansas laws, regulations, and company policies. Responsibilities Evaluate clients and co-signers for eligibility for bail bond services by gathering and reviewing appropriate background and financial information. Explain bond terms, conditions, fees, and legal obligations clearly to clients and co-signers. Process bail bond applications accurately and efficiently using company software and industry-standard procedures. Prepare, review, and maintain contracts, applications, court documents, and other required records. Coordinate with county jails, courts, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and other legal professionals to facilitate the timely release of defendants. Maintain accurate and confidential client records. Monitor clients for compliance with applicable bond conditions and company requirements. Maintain regular communication with clients and co-signers throughout the life of the bond. Assist with locating defendants when necessary and in accordance with Arkansas law and company policies. Maintain professional relationships with courts, jails, law enforcement, attorneys, clients, and members of the community. Follow all Arkansas laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and J.E. Bonding, Inc. policies. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and level of customer service at all times. Perform other duties associated with the operation of a professional bail bond business. Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must meet the qualifications established by the Arkansas Professional Bail Bond Company and Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board . Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman license . Must successfully complete the required Arkansas bail bondsman education requirements. Must successfully pass the required Arkansas bail bondsman examination. Must successfully complete the required criminal background check. Must be able to obtain a valid appointment from J.E. Bonding, Inc. Must demonstrate good character, trustworthiness, and competence as required by Arkansas law and the licensing board. Must have reliable transportation. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to communicate professionally with clients, law enforcement, courts, attorneys, and the public. Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding client and case information. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Arkansas Bail Bondsman Licensing Requirements Applicants who are not currently licensed in Arkansas must meet all applicable requirements for an initial Professional Bail Bondsman license . Arkansas licensing requirements include completion of the required education and successful completion of the required examination. Applicants for initial licensure are required to complete at least eight (8) hours of beginning education covering the authority and responsibilities of a bail bondsman and applicable laws and rules . Applicants may also be required to: Submit a completed bail bondsman license application. Complete the required state and nationwide criminal records check. Successfully pass the Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman examination. Meet applicable Arkansas requirements concerning residency, character, trustworthiness, competence, and other statutory qualifications. Provide required documentation and information requested by the licensing board. Obtain the required company appointment. Obtain the required power of attorney from the licensed bail bond company. Applicants who already hold a valid Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman license are encouraged to apply. Applicants who are not currently licensed may also be considered if they meet the applicable requirements to pursue Arkansas licensure and are willing to complete the licensing process. Licensing requirements are subject to Arkansas law and rules and may change. Final determination of eligibility and licensure is made by the Arkansas Professional Bail Bond Company and Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in bail bonds, law enforcement, corrections, criminal justice, legal services, collections, financial services, or customer service. Existing Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman license. Knowledge of Arkansas courts, jails, and bail procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized bail bond software. Ability to work independently while also being a dependable member of a team.
