The Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is seeking a skilled Sheriff Records Technician to perform a wide variety of general and technical clerical duties. This dynamic role involves frequent interaction with LCSO staff, other law enforcement agencies, and the public, making customer service excellence a top priority.

As a key member of our team, you'll handle tasks such as transcription, data entry for statistical reporting to the state and federal governments, and maintaining physical and digital records (including body-worn camera footage). The starting salary range for this position is $50,084 to $60,101.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following statements are illustrative of the duties and responsibilities of the job. The organization retains the right to modify or change the duties and responsibilities of the job at any time.
Essential Functions:
Performs data entry; updates, researches, stores, and retrieves documents and data; maintains physical and digital records to include body worn camera footage.

Uses computer database systems to type, enter, modify, verify and retrieve a wide variety of police reports and records including search queries on warrants, vehicles, articles, persons, guns, body worn camera footage, etc.

Performs customer service functions via in-person, phone, and email with the public, other Larimer County departments, and other agencies.

Works with sworn staff to validate and finalize reports to meet local, state and federal crime reporting requirements.

Exercises good organizational skills while demonstrating the ability to be detail-oriented in carrying out assigned tasks.

May act as a Field Training Officer for new employees.

Notarizes articles for public, agency documents, and others as required.

Assists department personnel and the public by performing record checks, releasing police reports, and mailing out requested reports to outside agencies and insurance companies in accordance with the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act (CCJRA) and provides general information regarding department policies, procedures, and regulations.

Attends training as necessary to maintain department standards.

Schedule:
This is a full-time, in-person position with typical working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Sheriff's Office prohibits possession of marijuana by employees under any circumstances and expects employees to comply with federal law.
