- CS position.
DESCRIPTION
This position conducts clemency investigations. The investigative reports are then provided to the Commissioners of the Florida Commission on Offender Review (FCOR) and the Board of Executive Clemency.EXAMPLES OF WORK
Conducts comprehensive confidential clemency investigations for the Board of Executive Clemency for applicants seeking various types of clemency (example: firearm authority, pardon, commutation of sentence, remission of fines and forfeitures, and restoration of civil rights). These investigations, which are reviewed by the Florida Commission on Offender Review prior to submission to the Board of Executive Clemency, provide a broad picture of the applicant's history and activities. This position also conducts Restoration of Civil Rights Investigations without Hearing, which includes verifying the status of pecuniary penalties and restitution and determining whether the individual is eligible for clemency consideration under the Rules of Executive Clemency.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System. Ability to work independently. Ability to interact with victims. Ability to work under stressful conditions. Ability to initiate and conduct interviews and investigations. Ability to communicate effectively- verbally and in writing.
