As Needed Northlake Behavioral Health System is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Court Liaison to coordinate the judicial commitment process for patients receiving inpatient behavioral health services. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing, Director of Clinical Therapy, Chief Operating Officer, and outside legal counsel to ensure court filings are accurate and submitted on time, required parties are properly notified, and patients and clinical or medical staff are available for scheduled court hearings. What You'll Do Coordinate the judicial commitment process from filing through court hearing Prepare, track, and ensure timely submission of required court filings and documentation Coordinate notifications and scheduling with courts, attorneys, patients, families, and other required parties Schedule and coordinate patient and staff participation in court hearings, including hearings conducted remotely by video conference Work closely with clinical and medical leadership to ensure required staff are available for hearings Communicate with outside legal counsel regarding upcoming hearings, filings, and case requirements Maintain accurate records and deadlines related to judicial commitment cases Monitor court requirements and follow up to ensure nothing falls through the cracks Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Current L2 or L3 law student Experience with the judicial commitment process in a behavioral health facility is required Strong understanding of legal deadlines, documentation, and confidentiality Excellent organization and follow-through; this is a role where details and deadlines matter Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with clinical, medical, administrative, and legal professionals Comfortable managing multiple cases, deadlines, and schedules simultaneously Professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately Why This Role Matters The Court Liaison plays an important role in ensuring that patients receive the appropriate legal review and that the judicial commitment process moves forward accurately, timely, and respectfully.
