DESCRIPTION
The Albany County Office of the Public Defender is seeking attorneys capable of providing holistic, client-centered legal representation to indigent clients enmeshed in the criminal justice system. We seek attorneys who can collaborate with our team of attorneys, investigators, mitigation staff, support staff, and supervisors. Ideal candidates are committed to the client's defense, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and advocate zealously and persuasively.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
For the intermediate level Assistant Public Defender Position, we are seeking candidates with a New York State bar admission (or ability to waive into New York from another jurisdiction
•) who have between three (3) and seven (7) years of experience practicing as an attorney. Criminal trial experience is preferred.
•An attorney from another state, territory or district may practice law in NYS, pro hac vice, for a period not to exceed 18 months. Please upload a resume and cover letter when submitting your online application.
