This is the perfect position for someone who is newly out of law school and does not want full time employment yet, or an attorney getting back into the workforce. I am not offering a remote position at this time. I am seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney/Office Assistant to join my solo family law firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in helping people through a very difficult time in their lives and to contribute to the efficient operation of our legal practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, drafting, and communication skills, along with a proactive attitude and a passion for legal advocacy. This paid position is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, fostering professional growth and development. Duties Assist attorneys with case management, including organizing files, preparing legal documents, and maintaining case calendars Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw across various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, employment law, and more Draft contracts, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision and clarity Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing deposition summaries, and coordinating witness schedules Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, provide updates, and clarify legal procedures Manage court depositions and procedural filings in compliance with jurisdictional requirements Maintain accurate records of case activities using legal case management software Skills Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, employment law, and general & commercial litigation Proven experience in legal research and statutory legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms Excellent legal writing skills for drafting motions, pleadings, contracts, and client correspondence Ability to prepare for court depositions and trial proceedings with attention to detail Effective negotiation skills for settlement discussions and client advocacy Familiarity with procedural laws across different jurisdictions and court systems Strong organizational skills with experience in legal case management systems Exceptional communication skills for liaising with clients, attorneys, courts, and other stakeholders Prior law office experience is preferred; familiarity with legal administrative tasks is a plus Join our team to develop your legal expertise across diverse fields while supporting a collaborative environment committed to excellence.
