Job Description

Job Overview Coral Gables boutique law firm seeking an L3 law student or recent law school graduate for part-time position as a law clerk. The candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in conducting legal research and drafting memorandums. Additionally, an applicant with prior law firm experience is preferred. We are seeking a candidate available to work 3 days a week for at least 8 hours a day . The schedule is 10 - 7 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break or 10 - 6:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Responsibilities The firm's practice areas include commercial litigation, business disputes, employment matters, real estate, and intellectual property in federal and state courts primarily in Florida, California and New York.
The position entails:
  • Conducting Legal research on Westlaw and drafting memorandums;
  • Locating sample pleadings using Westlaw and Pacer;
  • Creating Table of Contents and Table of Authorities in Word;
  • Drafting templates for pleadings, motions, orders and discovery;
  • Efiling on the Court's online portal, eserving to parties in a case and ecourtesy copies to the Court;
  • Maintaining electronic case files - pleadings, discovery, correspondence, etc.;
  • Bates-labeling discovery for production and proficiency with cloud file sharing applications;
  • Creating hearing binders;
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat required; and
  • General administrative/clerical support.
