We are seeking a Family Law Discovery Clerk to support our Family Law Department by managing the discovery process from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, document management, client communication, and working behind the scenes to ensure attorneys and paralegals have everything they need to successfully prepare cases. This position is focused exclusively on discovery support. It is designed to free our legal team to focus on litigation strategy while ensuring discovery deadlines and document exchanges are completed accurately and on time. Primary Responsibilities Prepare, organize, and maintain discovery files for active family law cases. Draft, send, and track discovery requests and responses. Collect, review, organize, and index client documents for production. Follow up with clients regarding outstanding discovery requests and required documentation. Review incoming discovery from opposing counsel and organize materials for attorney and paralegal review. Maintain accurate discovery logs and ensure document production is complete and properly labeled. Upload, organize, and maintain case documents within the firm's case management system. Download newly filed pleadings and promptly forward them to clients when appropriate. Communicate professionally with clients regarding discovery requirements and document requests. Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing exhibits, financial records, and supporting documents for mediation, hearings, and trial. Ensure discovery files remain organized, complete, and audit-ready throughout the life of each case. Complete case closing procedures, including organizing final files and preparing closing correspondence. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred but not required Experience with discovery procedures is preferred. Excellent organizational and document management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software. Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and paralegals. Preferred Experience Law firm experience.
