Job Description
McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., L.P.A. seeks a full-time associate to join our Family Law Practice Group. You will work under the guidance of senior attorneys to represent clients in divorce, dissolution, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related domestic relations matters in state courts and alternative dispute resolution forums. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement conferences. Conduct legal research and analysis; draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda. Prepare and draft legal documents, including disclosures, discovery, separation agreements and parenting plans. Develop case strategies with supervising attorneys; manage deadlines and case calendars. Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, risks, and potential outcomes. Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and other ADR processes. Review and analyze documents and evidence; prepare for and attend depositions and hearings. Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files and comply with all legal standards and court rules. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in Ohio and in good standing. 1-5 years of litigation experience; family law experience or demonstrated interest strongly preferred. Excellent analytical, research, drafting, and negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills; ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism. Highly organized with attention to detail; able to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively within a team.
