What We Are Looking For Baylor Law seeks a Director of Employer Programs to support its Career Development Office (CDO). Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Career Development, the Director of Employer Programs for Baylor Law is a critical connection between the legal market and Baylor Law talent. The Director of Employer Programs will be responsible for connecting law firms, corporations, government offices, and non-profit organizations with Baylor Law students to secure internship, field placement, and post-graduate opportunities. Primary duties of the Director of Employer Programs will include overseeing the implementation and support of on-campus, remote, external services for legal employers seeking Baylor Lawyers. In addition to the CDO team, the Director will collaborate with Baylor Law's faculty and staff, particularly its director of alumni relations and diversity coordinator. A Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A JD and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another. All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. What You Will Do Develop job opportunities for law students and recent graduates to generate strong employment outcomes Identify and develop student resource materials to support students' job searches Present programs to students to help prepare them for their interaction with employers Oversee the Job Posting board at Baylor Law, including sourcing jobs for posting Support employer outreach and administration of the In-House Practice Externship Program and other Externship Programs Administer application and program timelines for employment programs, including on-campus interviews, employer visits to campus, job fairs, consortium events, Government Honors, Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Programs (LCLD), and post-graduate fellowships Utilize social media platforms as well as traditional outreach to market students and graduates to a wide variety of legal employers (law firms, the judiciary, government agencies, public interest organizations, and corporations) including strengthening existing relationships and creating new contacts Capture details of employer visits in a reportable manner for internal constituent use Assist in refining and implementing office policies as they relate to the recruiting process Support any administrative needs of interview programs and job posting tasks, as needed Provide career counseling to law students and recent graduates related to employer programs Survey the employment status of graduates and students Work closely with recent graduates, accurately report the employment status of graduates in annual reports to the American Bar Association and NALP Track, compile, and analyze employment statistics and respond to trends or changing market conditions Attend Baylor Law Alumni Receptions, jobs fairs, and other off-campus event representing Baylor Law Represent the law school to internal and external audiences Participate in professional association groups relating to legal career planning, including local bar associations as well as the National Association for Law Placement Attend the annual NALP conference and participate in the association's committee work, as directed Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission Ability to comply with university policies Maintain regular and punctual attendance What You Can Expect As part of the Baylor family, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.
