Job Description Represent educators in Education Code disciplinary proceedings before the Office of Administrative Hearings. Handle credentialing matters before the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Represent educators in disputes with school districts involving pay, classification, disability accommodations, layoffs, leaves, transfers, tort claims, and related issues. Provide advice and counsel to educators on a wide range of employment and workplace matters. Manage intake and an active caseload of approximately 20 to 30 cases per month. Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies. Draft pleadings, briefs, legal memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents. Participate in administrative hearings, negotiations, and other proceedings. Communicate directly with clients and provide thoughtful, practical legal guidance. Collaborate with attorneys across the practice while independently managing assigned matters. Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Active California Bar membership in good standing. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent judgment, communication, organization, and time-management abilities. Ability to manage a substantial caseload in a fast-paced environment. Labor and employment law coursework expected. Education law experience is preferred but not required. Experience in labor and employment, plaintiff-side employment, union representation, public interest, administrative law, or related litigation is highly relevant.
