This is a national defence firm of a couple of hundred lawyers, and in California employment is what keeps them busiest. They want to get bigger, but only where they're already good.

The day job:

Wage and hour class actions and PAGA Single plaintiff FEHA cases, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination, yours from the complaint onwards Depositions of HR managers, supervisors and the odd regional director who's been dreading it for weeks Motions you draft and then go and argue yourself, in state and federal court DLSE, EEOC and Civil Rights Department matters for employers Advice calls from employers who'd like to avoid ending up back on your desk Associates get a lot of mentoring here, partners have to put set hours into it every year, and you'll be in court far more than most people are at this level. Hybrid from whichever California office is nearest you, and they all run as one team. The band is $155,000 to $215,000 and the target is 1,900 hours. Hit it and there's a discretionary bonus, and going past it pays extra twice a year. Unlimited PTO, plus medical, dental, vision and a 401k.
