We want an attorney who understands California family law, enjoys litigation and case strategy, is comfortable working directly with clients and is ready to take meaningful responsibility for assigned cases. This position offers an unusual opportunity for the right attorney: the resources and infrastructure of a multi-office California law firm combined with the ability to play an important role in the continued growth of our Northern California practice.

THE ROLE

The attorney will manage and participate in family-law matters involving dissolution, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property characterization and division, separate and community property issues, domestic violence proceedings, post-judgment matters, discovery disputes, settlement negotiations, evidentiary hearings and trials.

Responsibilities include:

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have an active California Bar license in good standing, approximately 3-7 years of attorney experience, substantive California family-law experience, courtroom experience, strong written advocacy skills and the ability to independently analyze a case and recommend strategy. We are particularly interested in attorneys who have handled their own RFOs, contested custody or support proceedings, complex property matters, depositions, settlement conferences or trial preparation.

Boyd Law offers: Base salary of $140,000-$185,000, depending on experience and qualifications Performance-based compensation opportunities Profit-sharing opportunities for attorneys interested in originating matters and developing their own book of business Medical insurance benefits Dental insurance benefits Firm retirement/IRA contributions Experienced paralegal and administrative support Access to experienced family-law attorneys and Certified Family Law Specialists Meaningful courtroom experience Advancement opportunities within a growing multi-office California firm We are particularly interested in attorneys with an entrepreneurial mindset. An attorney who wants to develop a book of business should not necessarily have to choose between being an employee and starting a law firm. At Boyd Law, attorneys interested in business development can have the opportunity to build their own book within an established firm and participate in profit-sharing opportunities, while having access to the infrastructure, staffing, technology, marketing and administrative resources necessary to service those clients effectively.

•Compensation is role-based and reflects the scope of responsibilities, level of supervision, and market benchmarks for associate-level litigation positions , rather than age or tenure.

BUILD SOMETHING WITH US

Our Roseville office presents a particularly exciting opportunity for an attorney who wants to grow with a practice. We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of Boyd Law's Northern California presence—not simply occupy an associate position. For the right attorney, there is meaningful room to grow into senior, supervisory or management responsibilities and to develop a substantial practice of their own within Boyd Law.

TO APPLY

Please submit a resume, brief cover letter and writing sample, preferably a substantive family-law pleading, motion, memorandum or brief. If you want to practice substantive family law, get into court, participate in strategy, build professional relationships and have a genuine opportunity to grow your career and your own book of business, we encourage you to apply.
