Position Summary Works under direct supervision of an assigned supervisor to be responsible for researching legal data for briefs or arguments based on statutory law or decisions.

Pay Grade:

41H Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university and enrolled in an accredited law school as a rising second-year law student or higher; OR An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities Searches for and studies legal records and documents to obtain data applicable to cases under consideration. Prepares legal memoranda, drafts of briefs/arguments and other relevant paperwork. Files pleadings with court clerk. Serves copies of pleadings on opposing counsel. Drafts correspondence, affidavits and files documentation as requested.

Performs other related duties as directed or assigned. KSAs General knowledge of legal terms and court proceedings. Ability to conduct legal research and to prepare drafts of legal documents. Ability to establish and maintain a system of files. Ability to work with co-workers and the public with courtesy and tact.
