Associate Attorney - Family Law We are seeking an Associate Attorney to support our growing family law practice and expanding client base. Essential Duties Provide legal representation and guidance in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, property division, and domestic violence. Conduct thorough client consultations, assess case merits, and develop strategies aligned with client objectives. Prepare and file legal documents accurately and within deadlines, including complaints, motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements. Perform comprehensive legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to support strong legal arguments. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution to achieve favorable outcomes. Advocate in court through persuasive arguments, witness examination, and evidence presentation. Maintain consistent, clear communication with clients regarding options and case progress Collaborate with colleagues on trial preparation, information exchange, and efficient case management. Conduct depositions, gather evidence, and engage expert witnesses as needed. Additional Responsibilities Stay current on family law developments to provide accurate and informed legal counsel. Uphold the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and client trust Manage caseload effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail Build professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Participate in ongoing professional development Contribute to firm growth through networking, legal writing, and presentations Assist in collecting or ensuring payment plans are executed for 80%+ billable hours Qualifications 3+ years of family law experience Juris Doctor and active Texas bar license Ability to commute to the Tyler office, with some flexibility for remote work Demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional client experience and litigate effectively 1,200 annual billable hour requirement, with additional compensation for exceeding Compensation Structure Total compensation range: $100,000 - $285,000 Base salary: $85,000 Billable hour incentive plan ranging from $5,000 up to $170,000 Consultation fee incentives: $10,000 - $20,000 annually New client origination bonus: 25% for personal injury clients and discretionary for family law clients Annual discretionary performance bonus based on firm and individual performance Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid holidays and unlimited PTO Paid CLE, professional memberships, and licensing Relocation assistance considered where applicable Mileage and parking reimbursement for court-related travel Growth Opportunity With strong performance and leadership capability, this role offers a clear path to Managing Attorney, including oversight of other attorneys within the firm.
